Responsibilities

Laboratory management tasks include:

• Development of software solutions for connecting large devices (e.g. EEG, TMS, eye tracker, motion tracker) with experimental setups

• Development of specialized software solutions for experimental paradigms

• Programming experimental test sequences, e.g. stimulus presentations, moving image stimuli etc.

• Analysis and evaluation of experimental data, such as EEG, ECG, EMG, EDA, EOG, respiration or eye-tracking data and other behavioral data

• Setup and supervision of stationary and ambulatory clinical biofeedback and neurofeedback systems

• Technical consulting of lab members

• Conducting and supporting complex data analyses

• Support in selecting and commissioning the purchase of large devices (requesting offers, negotiating discounts where applicable)

• Advancement of the data management and open science infrastructure of the department

• (Occasional) support in the administration of the department's IT infrastructure

Our research group in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy offers an excellent research environment for the translation of basic neuroscience findings into clinical research paradigms and new interventions. We are particularly interested in the cognitive and affective mechanisms that a responsible for the formation and maintenance of psychotic symptoms, such as delusions and hallucinations. Our aim is to develop innovative and effective interventions to address these mechanisms. We follow a transparent research approach (open science) and welcome the inclusion of people with lived experience of psychosis in the development and implementation of research projects.

Requirements

• Completed university degree in a relevant field

• Doctorate (PhD)

 

Required skills and personal qualities

Documented knowledge and skills in at least 5 of the following areas:

• Software development in general

• Programming, especially in MATLAB, Python and related programs

• Complex EEG analyses

• Measurement and evaluation of psychophysiological data, such as ECG, EMG, EDA, EOG, respiration or eye-tracking data

• Complex data analyses, such as computational modeling or machine learning

• Data management and backup systems

• IT administration

• Research experience in experimental psychology or cognitive neuroscience
