The Division of Developmental and Personality Psychology at the Department of Psychology of the University of Basel
is looking to recruit a
Senior Teaching and Research Assistant
level of employment 80 to 100 percent
with a starting date of February 1st, 2021 (or by appointment). The prerequisites for employment are a high level of
professional qualification, dedicated planning of an academic career, research experience and a research interest in
the field of developmental science in congruence with or in relation to the division’s research lines, as well as teaching
experience in psychology at Bachelor’s and/or Master’s level. The position is limited to a maximum of six years.
Duties
The jobholder is expected to provide high research commitment and to assist in the acquisition of competitive external
funding. Teaching on Bachelor’s or Master’s level is mandatory; the teaching load varies due to the degree of em-
ployment. Working language may be English; German skills for everyday conversations are required (B1). Activities in
academic self-organization are expected.
Requirements
• Doctorate in psychology (PhD), preferably developmental, educational or personality psychology
• Research experience and a research interest in the field of developmental and/or personality science
• Experience in longitudinal and/or experimental research designs with children, adolescents/adults
• Excellent skills in statistical methods
• Excellent didactical skills
• Peer-reviewed publications as a first and/or co-author
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High degree of organizational skills
The Division of Developmental and Personality Psychology comprises a team of advanced researchers, PhD and
Master's students in the areas of test development, second language, cognitive and motor development, and person-
ality development in intimate relationships across the life-span. The Division hosts the SEED graduate program and
the Center for Developmental and Personality Counselling. The Department of Psychology offers an attractive re-
