The Social and Legal Psychology group (Prof. R. Imhoff) at the Johannes Gutenberg
University Mainz offers a position as

Research Fellow (d/w/m; 100%)

starting October 1st 2026 (for 3 years).

The position is a fixed-term faculty position in the department. Suitable candidates already
have relevant experience in and future plans for research that aligns with the chair’s research
areas. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s teaching through
independent courses (4 contact hours per week) as well as by assisting with exams.

Your Profile:

- Above-average degree in psychology (Master’s or equivalent)
- Mastery of German language (required for teaching and exam purposes)
- Ph.D. in psychology in a relevant field
- Publication experience in (international) academic journals
- Very strong knowledge of research methods and statistics (including experience using R)
- A strong interest in basic psychological research, ideally aligned with the department’s

current research topics (e.g., https://www.sozrepsy.uni-mainz.de)
- Experience in planning, conducting, and analyzing empirical studies
- High level of commitment
- Experience in teaching and securing external funding is also desirable (but not required)
