Research Assistant
(Post-Doc or PhD-Position)
The position is available as of now until July 31 st, 2020. The position is assigned to
the third-party funded cooperation project in the area of mental health and gender
research. The salary of the position is determined by payment group E 13 according to
the collective labor agreement of the State of Hessen (TV-H). The employment takes
place at the JLU. The workplace is located at the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich.
Job description
• Participation in the BMBF project "Gender-Sensitive Analyses of mental health
trajectories and implications for prevention: A multi-cohort consortium – GESA"
• Data harmonization of the KORA cohort data with GESA
• KORA data analysis both separately and aggregated with GESA
• Contribution to the development of gender-sensitive prevention and care
• Close cooperation with the other GESA partners and study centers
Your Qualification
• You have a completed academic university degree (Master) in Epidemiology or
related life science degree with expertise in mental health (medicine & psychology)
• Good statistical background and ability to handle data sets in SAS / R
• Good knowledge of standard bio-informatics tools to handle genetic information is
an advantage, however not a prerequisite
• Advanced communications skills in spoken and written English and scientific writing,
German is an advantage
• High motivation, scientific curiosity and commitment to scientific excellence
• Enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
