The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.

Research Associate (m/f/d)
(salary group TV-L E 13, 50 %, limited for 2 years)

Preferred start date is October 1st, 2020 or later.

Duties and functions:
With this position as a research associate at ZPID you will become part of the PsyCuraDat project team. The goal of the BMBF-funded project is to preserve the long-term interpretability of psychological research data by developing and implementing user-friendly curation criteria and quality standards. By facilitating the integration of the standard into the normal research process, we hope to contribute to the reorientation of the psychological community towards a more open and sustainable science.

Against this background, it will be your task to support our team in developing, testing, and implementing these new standards. In order to evaluate and refine the developed standard you will conceptualize and conduct user studies. Additionally, you will develop online-teaching materials (including concepts for webinars, online-tutorials) and workshopconcepts to train researchers in applying the standard to their data.

Finally, you will contribute to disseminate the standard in the relevant scientific communities by presenting and discussing the project
results on national and international congresses as well as publishing them in respected journals of the field.

Your profile:
• Doctor in Psychology or other relevant discipline
• Relevant practical experience in empirical research
• Relevant teaching experience
• Relevant experience with guiding and organizing research data management
• Interest in actively contributing to a reorientation of the psychological community towards a more open and sustainable science, i.a. by developing and testing a data curation standard for psychological research data as well as online teaching material and concepts for face-to-face courses and workshops
• Independent working style
• Good communication and team skills
• Very good command of written and spoken German and English

Optional qualifications:
• Experience with the process of acquiring third-party funding in psychology
• Experience in usability testing
• Experience in survey research
