The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research support
organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.
To fulfil the ever-increasing research infrastructure needs expressed by researchers and psychology professionals, ZPID is
in the process of strategic expansion directed at meeting these needs to become psychology’s one-stop research service
center. Current as well as future ZPID research areas and services are based on and guided by the values of open science
and open innovation.
Currently, we are planning a research project aimed at the development of user oriented curation criteria for psychological
research data (PsyCuraDat). The overarching goal of this project is to develop, test, and establish a new documentation
standard for psychological research data that considers the possible methodological reuse scenarios for this data.
Therefore, we currently have the following job opening:
Junior Researcher (m/f) User Orientation in Psychological Research Data Curation
(salary group TV-L E 13, 75%, initially limited to 3 years, awaiting authorization of funding)
Preferred start date is 01.04.2019 or later
Your responsibilities:
Designing and conducting user studies with researchers in psychology and related fields
Designing and conducting interviews with experts in the field of research synthesis methods as well as other
established reuse scenarios in psychology (e.g., replication studies)
Developing and evaluating qualification measures for the application of the user-oriented standards
Presenting at national and international conferences
Publishing in peer-reviewed journals in the area of psychology and information sciences
Preparing research proposals and funding applications
Required qualifications:
Master-level degree (or equivalent) in Psychology
High methodological skills, especially in research synthesis methods (e.g., meta-analyses and systematic reviews)
High interest in pursuing and completing a PhD thesis contributing to an increased transparency, sustainability, and
quality of psychological research
Desired experiences:
Experience in the design and conduct of interviews
Work experience in psychological research or in a research-related area (preferably with teaching experience)
Knowledge in the management of research data, especially their documentation
