Position for a PhD student in Cognitive Neuroscience

Applications are invited for a PhD student in Cognitive Neuroscience to work on prediction in communication.
Research topic
The research focus will be on combining neuroimaging and behavioural measurements with computational models to understand how the human brain combines prior expectations and sensory information during communication (e.g., audio-visual speech perception). Location
The project (led by Dr Helen Blank) will be based at the Institute of Systems Neuroscience (head: Prof Christian Büchel) at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany.

Requirements for the PhD position:
- A Master of Science or an equivalent degree in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, or a related discipline
- Experience in programming and analysing neuroimaging experiments is a big plus.
- Keen interest in experimental approaches to study human communication
- Motivation to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Organizational skills
- Fluency in English

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The first review of applications will begin on 1st November 2019. Salary depends on experience and is based on German regulations (TVöD-VKA-13 for PhD positions with the factor 65%).
