Im Rahmen des ERC Consolidator Projekts „ACTOR: Towards a computational account of natural sequential behavior“ ist am
Fachbereich Humanwissenschaften der Technischen Universität Darmstadt, Centre for Cognitive Science und Institut für
Psychologie, Arbeitsgruppe Psychologie der Informationsverarbeitung zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt. eine Stelle als
Wiss. Mitarbeiter_in (w/m/d) – 80 %
in einem zunächst auf 3 Jahre befristeten Arbeitsverhältnis zu besetzen.
Ihre Aufgaben:
Forschung im Bereich der Kognitionswissenschaft, Künstlicher Intelligenz, Psychologie der Informationsverarbeitung im
Rahmen des ERC Projekts „ACTOR: Towards a computational account of natural sequential behavior“,
Entwicklung und Implementation von Verhaltensexperimenten mit menschlichen Probanden in naturalistischen und VR
Umgebungen unter Verwendung von Eye-tracking und Body-tracking,
sowie Entwicklung und Implementation von computationalen Modellen zum Verständnis und zur Vorhersagen menschlichen
sequentiellen Verhaltens aus den Bereichen Optimal Control, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning und Probabilistic
Programming.
Ihre Voraussetzungen:
sehr guter wissenschaftlicher Hochschulabschluss (Diplom oder Master) im Fach Kognitionswissenschaft, Informatik,
Psychologie oder verwandten Gebieten,
sehr gute analytische und methodische Kenntnisse,
sehr gute Englischkenntnisse,
ausgeprägtes Interesse an empirischer und theoretischer Forschung im Bereich der Kognitionswissenschaft, künstlichen
Intelligenz, Psychologie der Informationsverarbeitung, Kognitiven Modellierung,
organisatorische Fähigkeiten, hohe Leistungsbereitschaft, Teamfähigkeit,
Erfahrung in der Programmierung mittels Python oder Julia, insbesondere probabilistische graphischen Modelle, Optimal
Control, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning oder Probabilistic Programming sind von Vorteil.
Gelegenheit zur Vorbereitung einer Promotion wird gegeben. Das Erbringen der Dienstleistung dient zugleich der
wissenschaftlichen Qualifizierung.

Research Assistant / PhD position (all genders) – 80%
as part of the ERC Consolidator project „ACTOR: Towards a computational account of
natural sequential behavior“ in the group of Constantin Rothkopf at the Centre for Cognitive
Science, Institute of Psychology in the Department of Human Sciences at the Technical
University of Darmstadt initially limited for three years.
In this project we will combine human behavioral experiments in naturalistic tasks with
computational modeling to better understand how perception, decision making, and actions
are intertwined in sequential behavior. This involves developing behavioral experiments in
natural or VR environments while tracking the body and the eyes as well as developing and
applying computational models from the areas of optimal control, reinforcement learning,
deep learning and probabilistic programming to explain and predict human behavior.
Your profile
• You have a Masters in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Psychology or in a
related field,
• very good analytical and methodological skills,
• interest in empirical and theoretical research in the areas of cognitive science, AI,
psychology of information processing, cognitive modeling,
• you are self-motivated, reliable, creative, able to discuss/write/present scientific results
in English,
• experience in programming in Python or Julia especially probabilistic graphical
models, optimal control, reinforcement learning, deep learning or probabilistic
programming are a plus.
Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the
duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
