The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research
support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association. Our mission is to establish
excellent conditions for researchers to adopt open science practices.

We are currently offering an infrastructure and research position to be filled by a

Software developer / Research associate (m/f/d)
(salary group TV -L E13, 100%, limited for 4 years)

The successful applicant is expected to develop, implement, and optimize PsychNotebook according to a
requirements profile using SCRUM. PsychNotebook is intended as a web -based research application to support
collaborative, low -threshold code- based, and easy -to- archive study planning and data analysis functionalities.

You will work in close collaboration with the department head of the study planning, data collection, and data
analysis services and you will be integrated in the software development team. Product development will be
accompanied by research projects evaluating the usability/UX of PsychNotebook or ZPID’s other
services/products.

Preferred start date is September 2019 or later.

Your profile:
• Master’s degree (or proven record of capabilities) in computer science, software engineering or in a
related discipline
• Profound knowledge of Python and the Python software ecosystem
• Experienc e with work on the Linux command line
• First experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Git
• Proactive, results -oriented, and independent working style
• Expertise in psychology is a plus
• Any experience with user authentication mechanisms, e.g. OAuth is a plus
• Any experience with statistical programming languages (especially R, Julia) is a plus
