The Social Processes Lab is searching a commited

Researcher
(PhD student, m/f/d, 36 months)

starting September 1st, 2022 or later (latest start: November 1st, 2022) for a DFG-funded research project
on the topic of Emotion-based pathways to collective action. This project will investigate the causes and
consequences of anger and anxiety in the context of collective action using cross-sectional field studies,
experiments, and longitudinal studies. Writing your doctoral thesis in this research area is desired and
explicitly supported. Depending on the successful candidate's interests, the thesis can center on topics like
the emergence and maintenance of collective action or more basic topics like the causes and specific
consequences of emotions related to collective action.

Your profile:

 Strong interest in collective action, group processes, and the role of emotions in societal change
processes

 Experience in planning and conducting quantitative empirical research and analyzing data
 Experience or interest in programming studies with software packages like DirectRT, MediaLab,

Inquisit, or Qualtrics
 Degree in psychology and advanced knowledge about social or motivation psychology

Your tasks:

 Conceptualizing, conducting, analyzing and documenting empirical studies in the scope of the
project

 Presenting research results at national and international conferences
 Publication and documentation of research results in relevant scientific journals
 Participation in general tasks within the lab and the institute
