The Cognitive Neuropsychiatry lab of Prof. Dr. Igor Nenadić at the Department of Psychiatry
and Psychotherapy , in collaboration with CoreFacility 7T animal imaging is currently
accepting applications for a
Research Assistant (PhD student) .
The post is to start as soon as possible . The position is offered for a period of 3 years , unless
former times of qualification must be considered . The position is part -time ( 50 % of regular
working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the
state of Hesse, Germany (TV -H E 13 , 50 %).
The project (“7T Animal imaging: methods for studying rodent models of neuropsychiatric
diseases”) is a collab orative effort with the 7T animal imaging and BrainImaging
CoreFacilities . It will further develop routines for scanning and data analysis in rodent models
of neuropsychiatric disorders and link those with human MRI data in a translational analysis.
Duties include preparation and implementation of rodent MR imaging experiments (esp. T1
and DTI brain structural scanning), MRI data analysis, and preparation of publications. The
successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team supported by the two MRI
CoreFacilities of the Medical School. In addition, available human MRI data are to be
analysed.
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral
degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample o pportunity to conduct the
independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation
complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
The successful applicant will hold an MSc -degree or equivalent in psychology, neuroscience,
IT, engineering or related sciences . Experience with statistics (SPSS or R) is expected.
Extensive experience with MRI data analysis is also desirable , esp. SPM, FSL, and/or CAT12 .
We expect successful candidates to enrol for further scientific qualification (e.g. a PhD
project in neuroscience or imaging ) under academic supervision .
