The Translational Psychiatry Unit (TPU) at the University of Lübeck is embedded in the
Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, the Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism
(CBBM) and the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). The TPU seeks to advance
our understanding about basic mechanisms underlying mental disorders and to translate this
knowledge into clinical applications.
The research group „Sleep and mental health“ is looking for
2 Doctoral candidates (PhD, 65%, TV-L E13)
who are interested in working on a project regarding the role of emotional and cognitive
processes during sleep in mental disorders. Another major aim of this project is to develop
novel tools that target these sleep-related processes in order to increase mental health. The
position is available from 01.01.2020 (or later).
The successful candidate must hold a degree (Diplom/Master) in psychology or in related fields
(cognitive science, biology, neuroscience). Experience in acquisition and analysis of human
EEG/fMRI and/or psychophysiologcal data and skills in statistics (SPSS, R) are desired. We
are looking for highly motivated candidates who enjoy team work, have good communication
skills (english and german), are self-organized and have the ability to work independently.
