Production Support for Publishing Platform (m/f/d)
(salary group TV-L E9, 100%, limited for 2 years)

Preferred start date is October 1, 2019 or later.

Duties and functions:
The successful applicant is expected to assist in production management and is primarily responsible for the production (copy- and layout editing) of full issues of PsychOpen Gold scientific journals. PsychOpen Gold is ZPID’s open access
publication platform for psychology.
You will work in close collaboration with the team leader of PsychOpen Gold within Archiving and Publication Services. Production management will be accompanied by formal quality checks of manuscripts, distribution of final articles and metadata to indexing services, as well as communication with authors and editors. You will also support the team in optimizing and evolving production workflows and -processes.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field or professional experience at a comparable level
  • Good knowledge of the formal standards/quality criteria for research articles; knowledge of APA style and metadata standards is a plus
  • Good knowledge of the whole academic publication workflow
  • Knowledge of scholarly information and documentation systems and editing software
  • Very good knowledge of standard office software (e.g., MS Office, MS Excel); basic skills in image editing; basic
  • skills in XML, XSLT, HTML, or LaTeX are a plus
  • Ability to analyze, structure, and enrich complex information resources
  • Very rigorous, thorough and structured working style
  • Excellent English skills. Knowledge of other languages is a plus
