The University of Zurich (UZH) seeks to fill the following position (April 2021 or as arranged):
Postdoctoral researcher in experimental psychopathology,
psychotherapy and digital mental health
to join an internationally active team of clinical scientists led by Prof Birgit Kleim in
developing studies in these areas. Our main areas of interest include the identification of
predictors for stress-related disorders, such as posttraumatic stress disorder, and resilience.
Our work examines memory and information processing in psychopathology from a clinical
and neuroscience perspective, in the lab and in the real world. We investigate ways to
augment current treatment approaches based on basic science principles. We currently also
apply digital mental health approaches to monitoring, predicting and treating stress-related
disorders and suicidality.
The appointee will conduct independent scholarly research, lead projects, prepare
manuscripts and reports, and supervise junior research staff. Information about the

vibrant and internationally renounced research community. Our team is affiliated with the
Neuroscience Center (neuroscience.uzh.ch) and the Digital Society Initiative (dsi.uzh.ch).
Applicants possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience or related.
They should have excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills and
demonstrate the ability to perform quantitative research and statistical analysis, conduct
psychiatric interviews, and manage large-scale databases. Proficiency in statistical software
packages (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS, Mplus) is required.
What we expect from you
• Pronounced interest in novel experimental psychopathology and digital methods
(passive mobile sensing, smartphone-based assessments and analyses) and their
application to psychopathology and intervention
• Good statistical and/or computational skills (machine learning would be a plus)
• Experience in scientific publishing
• Experience and interest in training and supervising junior scientists
• Fluent English and/or German
