Cutting-edge medicine through internationality

The IRTG is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is a structured international graduate program established as a cooperation between the Technische Universität (TU) Dresden and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. It will investigate risk factors and pathomechanisms of affective disorders to improve prevention, early detection and treatment. Within the unique environment of the transCampus, young scientists are trained in the field of translational research on affective disorders.

The IRTG 2773, the joint International Research Training Group “Risks and Pathomechanisms of Affective disorders” between the TU Dresden and King’s College London, offers positions as

PhD students (f/m/x)

The position (salary level 75% TV-L E13) is for three years.

The IRTG offers a position in the following project:
Learning, motivation, and cognitive control as trans-diagnostic mechanisms in addiction and depression

The project investigates associations between cognitive control mechanisms (assessed with a behavioral task battery and fMRI) and real-life self-control failures (assessed via smartphone-based ecological momentary assessments). The aim is to test whether depressiveness is associated with deficient performance-monitoring and attenuated recruitment of cognitive control functions and underlying brain networks, and whether depressiveness moderates the association between cognitive control competencies and real-life self-control.

A detailed project description can be found here.

  • keen interest in mental disorders
