Become part of the open science movement
The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research
support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.

Current as well as future ZPID research areas and services are based on and guided by the values of open science
and open innovation. ZPID provides tools and services to facilitate access to, manage, steward and store digital
research data. It has won a grant by the German Research Foundation (DFG) to further enhance DataWiz, a tool
that helps researchers in psychology to manage and document their research data.

For this project, we are looking for a

Junior Researcher / Doctoral Candidate (m/f /d) Software Development
(salary group TV-L E13, 100%, limited for 2 years)

Start date is August 1 st, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter

Duties and functions:
• Development and implementation of modules to archive and administrate research data based on open
source solutions, as well as import and export routines, observing standardized interfaces and exchange
formats
• Close cooperation with a usability expert to enhance the DataWiz user experience
• Integrating the procedural DataWiz component with the DataWiz knowledge base

Your profile:
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science or information technology or another scientific field
with an additional qualification in IT
• Profound knowledge of modern web, database and cloud technologies (Tomcat, MySQL, Minio) in Linux
environments
• Experience in software development using the Java programming language and script languages (e.g.
JavaScript) as well as frameworks related to Java development (S pring, jQuery, REST). Knowledge in
the field of research data (primary data, metadata) is advantageous
• Proactive, results -oriented, and independent working style
