of Differential Psychology and Psychological Assessment invites applications for a

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR THE PROJECT
“A NOVEL COLLABORATIVE APPROACH FOR EEG
PERSONALITY NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH ”
- SALARY LEVEL 13 TV -L -

The position in accordance with Section 28 subsection 3 of the Hamburg higher education act
(Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences as soon as possible.

This is a fixed -term contract in accordanc e with Section 2 of the academic fixed -term labor
contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG) . The term is fixed for a period of 30
months . The position calls for 65 % of standard work hours per week** .

Responsibilities:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also
pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

Specific Duties:
The successful applicant will be part of a multisite project aiming for increased replicability and
transparency in Personality Neuroscience and involving laboratories not only at the University
of Hamburg but also the Universities of Bonn (Prof. Beauducel ), Giessen (Prof. Hennig), Würzburg
(Prof. Hewig), Oldenburg (Prof. Hildebrandt), Marburg (Prof. Mueller), Osnabrück (Prof. Osinsky),
Cologne (Prof. Stahl), and Dresden (Prof. Strobel). He/ She will benefit from the expertise of all
participating researcher s and be able to chose with whom to collaborate most closely for their
independent research focus (a variety of different questions within the area of EEG Personality
Neuroscience will be adressed within the project).

Together with Prof. Wacker and other research associates involved in the project the successful
applicant will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting standardized data
collection routines (including programming of experimental paradigms) for all participating
laboratories. He/ She will conduct a training workshop for all experimenters involved in data
collection, continuously monitor incoming data for quality, and visit each participating
laboratory for close supervision of the test runs as well as for trouble shooting whene ver
necessary. In addition, he/she will contribute to publications as both first author and co -author.

Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field. Further requirements include a strong interest in
collaborative research and open science, peo -ple skills, English language skills, and prior
experience in EEG research and programming/scripting (e.g., Matlab, Presentation, R).
