The University of Luxembourg seeks to hire outstanding researchers within its Faculty of Language and Litera-
ture, Humanities, Arts and Education

1 position as PhD (100%)

within the research group Computer - Based Assessment ( Prof. Dr. Samuel Greiff ; uni.lu/eccs/cba ; face-
book.com/21cba ). The post will be offered on a term contract ( 36 months ) , available to start at 1 5
st
of Novem-
ber 2018 or later.
The CBA research group is interdisciplinary located within the fields of Educational and Personality Psychology,
Differential Psychology and Behavioral Genetics , applied Psychometrics, Cognitive Science, and Computer Sci-
ence. The CBA research group seeks to explore 21
st
century skills and personality factors that enable people to
develop and keep their full potential using a differential psychological, content - related, and a psychometric
perspective. T he open position can focus on a variety of topics within this area, including the investigation of
sources of interindividual differences , risk - and protective factors of mental health, and the training of 21
st
cen-
tury s k ills . The position allows for developing own research interests and to pursue a PhD in this area.

Responsibilities :
• Data analysis with SEM - models , including multiple group and family data
• Self - contained research targeted at receiving a PhD in Psychology (cumulative; i.e. based on peer - re-
viewed publications)
• National and international data collection and management at participating institutions
• Comm unicating with partners and independent instruction of student assistants
• Administrative responsibilities within the project and the research group
• Publications ( in English - speaking peer reviewed journals and at scientific conferences)
Profile :
• Excellent Masters degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or a related field
• Good knowledge of and interest in quantitative methods , willingness to learn new methods (i.e., anal-
ysis of multiple kinship and family data)
• Willing ness to travel internati onally and excellent English in speech and writing. Knowledge of addi-
tional foreign language s is welcome but not mandatory
• Involvement into teaching to a very limited extent
• Ability to work independently, strong personal commitment, ability to work under pressure, co mmuni-
cation & cooperation skills, administrative skills, creativity, determination
• Last but not least enthusiasm about, above average commitment for, and enjoyment in research and
science
