YourTasks
The Biopsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience group is looking for a PhD student for the DFG -funded
project “Assessment of parallel movement plans by probing spatial attention”. Our group investigates
sensorimotor processing with an emphasis on tactile processing and motor decisions in adults and children
(link here:
https:// bit.ly/2SIoFZm ). Our lab provides motion tracking, EEG, TMS, EMG, and a two- armed
Kinarm . The project examines sensorimotor planning and decision making in situations of uncertainty,
using motion tracking and spatial attention as a proxy.
Your tasks:
planning and programming of project -relevant experiments, organisation, execution, and analysis of
experiments (70%)
documentation of empirical and theoretical research through publications in international peer -reviewed
journals (25%)
presentation of experimental results on national and international conferences (5%)
The position offers the opportunity to obtain a PhD degree.
YourProfile
We expect
degree in a relevant field, e. g. bachelor in psychology, neurosciences, biology, kinesiology or in a
relevant field and completed or far -processed university degree, e. g. Master in an above- named or
allied field
high scientific interest in topics related to Biopsychology/Cognitive Neuroscience, particularly in
research in sensorimotor control and attention
independent and thorough working style
cooperative and team -oriented working
good command of English (oral and written)
Preferable qualifications
experience in programming and analysis of experiments (e. g. MatLab, Python, Presentation, R)
experience in analysis of motion tracking data
good statistical knowledge
research experience ( e. g. internship during course of studies )
Remuneration
Salary will be paid depending on personal qualifications up to Remuneration level 13 of the Wage
Agreement for Public Service in the Federal States (TV -L). As stipulated in §2 (1) sentences 1 of the
WissZeitVG (fixed-term employment), the contract will end after three years. In accordance with the
provisions of the WissZeitVGand the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of
contract may differ in individual cases. The employment is designed to encourage further academic
qualification. The position is advertised as a 65 % part -time job. In individual cases, this percentage may be
reduced on request, as long as this does not conflict with official needs.
